This is my final for my Basic Design class. It's due today. I spent the last two days working on it. I worked on it for 9 hours straight last night [i took a half hour brake for food]. 15 and 1/2 hours total on the whole thing. Yes, I'm a procrastinator. [and I've been working on all my other finals] BUT I GOT IT DONE!

The assignment: We had to do a piece on our family heritage [boo] and make an acrylic painting with it. That was pretty much our guidelines.

I was gonna do a bratwurst character wearing a kilt with a volkswagen behind him wearing a button that says 'Kiss Me I'm Irish" but I came up with this idea afterwards and I liked it.
I chose this idea for two reasons:
[one] most people who are all about their heritage and shit get tattoos.......[plus bald guys with tattoos are hot....*cough*]
[two] my grandparents royally pissed me of the other day, and they aren't fond of me but they're ALL about their heritage [yada yada yada] but they despise tattoos [they were upset when I told them I wanted to be a tattoo artist...aaaand they yelled at my dad when they found out I had a tattoo...they told him he did a horrible job raising me....] So I decided to do their heritage....on a bald guy with a tattoos.

The letters on his upper back are my last name. Ulmer. [in celtic lettering] I didn't have time to fix it, it was crooked and you could see the u more than the r...but like i said..i started this two days before it was due.
I did volkswagen to represent my german heritage, the clover is obvious, the dragon is from the welsh flag, i am mostly welsh and german. [the dragon took me almost three hours...it was annoying] the cross was something my sister had found on the internet for me...she told me it represented all of our heritage [welsh irish scottish english idk about german tho]...so i said why the hell not and threw it in there. it was either that or the family crest, but the crest would've taken me too much time.

Idk if you can see it but i added highlights and shadows...not much...i just did what i could with my left over skin tone color before i called it a night.

I HATE THE EARS....but I didn't have enough paint or time to fix em.

{FYI: My father did a great job BECAUSE, I'm not a drug addict, I'm not a whore, I'm not pregnant, I'm not in jail, I am going to school, and I am working at the same time... apparently because I'm not at a University learning law or pre-med I'm a failure....and I don't think they appreciate the large holes in my ears, or my baggy clothes, or my 'tattoos'}
